SEPTEMBER 2019 • ISSUE 01

We're back!!

If you've been with us for awhile you may have noticed a few newsletters before. This time we're doing things a little bit different and BETTER!! In addition to this digital newsletter a print version will also be available. Here are a few topics you may want to look out for in this issue - the reading room, book releases, lit clubs, other services and a few announcements from other literary superheroes.

In case you missed it...we've had some great news this past month.

READING ROOM: The biggest news is that we now have a reading room. Yes! The season of working from home has passed. A new chapter has begun and we now have a physical location in Tulsa and our door officially opened August 17th. Although this is not a storefront, it was time to at least have a space big enough to expand our inventory and have a space for authors, readers and our bookclubs. You can visit this location every 2nd & 4th Friday 5:00p - 7:00p and every Saturday 1:00p - 6:00p at 5525 E. 51st Street Suite 205. Please note that hours are subject to change due to work schedule and holidays. Be sure to check our Instagram page, website or call ahead at 800-809-8434 with any concerns or questions. While we are excited to have this new space we are still working towards a bookmobile as a way to be more accessible to our community.

8K GIVEAWAY: Last month we celebrated 8,000 followers with a Lit Box and Author Package giveaway. The winner of the Lit Box - Liberated Home scholars. The winner of the author package - Njeri Maldonado. It was very exciting to not only interview Maldonado in a blog interview but to interview her via Instagram live. The Instagram live interview will hopefully get uploaded to YouTube this month as well as an official book review of, Mama Didn't Raise This Woman.

If you think the previous news was great, this month is going to be A-MAZE-BALLS.

LIT' CLUBS: Our LIT' clubs were created for accessibility, to build relationships through reading and to make reading fun. While this may not be new news, we have updated parts to this initiative that are new.

  • Free book club (birth - 14) Tulsa youth can earn a free book every month with a completed reading log. The age limit will expand as we receive books for older teens.
